ZEISS CMM Applications Engineer

 

Elliott-Matsuura Canada Inc. in conjunction with Carl Zeiss IMT Corporation – a world leader in precision computer controlled measuring machines, has an employment opportunity for a Coordinate Measuring Machine(CMM) Applications Engineer in our Oakville, Ontario technical center.

 

Position Title: Application Engineer

Position Category: Technical/Sales

Position Type: Full Time

Location: Oakville, ON.

Job Description:

In this position the candidate will play a key role in the marketing, implementing, training and support of our equipment to the customer.

Key Accountabilities:

·         Supporting sales staff with technical presentations.

·         Creating and developing presentation/training materials.

·         Providing onsite and in-house training (class sizes 4-8 students).

·         Provide application specific support to our customers (hardware and software).

·         Design and engineer turnkey projects for existing and new customers.

·         Preparation of quotes related to training and support.

Qualifications:

·         Good interpersonal and customer relation skills is a must.

·         Working knowledge of various hardware combinations, computer systems.

·         Training or experience using mechanical measurement instruments.

·         Training in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.

·         Training or experience with Coordinate Measurement Machines.

·         Experience training or teaching individuals or small groups.

·         Background in public speaking or oral presentation.

General:

·         Adhering to all in-house procedures and policies.

·         Remain flexible to the current and future needs of Elliott-Matsuura/Zeiss business.

·         To complete all Elliott-Matsuura/Zeiss required documentation (training).

·         Meeting individual and team targets.

·         Set a high standard of self presentation and delivery.

·         Education in technical, sciences, mathematics or engineering disciplines.

·         Excellent command of spoken and written English.

·         Comfort with speaking to small to midsized groups.

·         General office and administrative duties.

Training:

Extensive training will be provided on all products (hardware and software). The successful candidate must be able to travel throughout Canada and the U.S.A.

Elliott-Matsuura Canada Inc. has an immediate opening for an exciting and fulfilling sales position.

 

In this position you will be responsible for sales activities in the designated territory including: the sales process, discovering leads, diagnosing needs for potential customers, designing and recommending a manufacturing solution, promoting that solution and maintaining a good relationship with customers.

 

Successful candidates will be self-motivated, energetic, technical, a team player and must possess excellent communications and problem solving skills.  A Degree/Diploma in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering is an asset but not required.  Candidates with the following knowledge and skills will be given consideration:

 

- Manufacturing knowledge including: milling, turning, EDMing and quality control.

- Must have working knowledge of reading mechanical engineered prints

- Familiar with Windows based computers and software.

- Familiar with customer databases for the purpose of reporting and follow-ups.

- Work experience in the manufacturing or manufacturing sales environment for 3-5 yrs.

- Good interpersonal and customer relation skills.
